Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training

40 Hour Immersion

with Karen Dubi

This training is an intensive immersion for those interested in learning teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga or deepening your own practice by coming to a greater understanding of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga System. You do not have to be a yoga teacher to participate in this training.

Through this program you will gain insights and grow your knowledge of Ashtanga Yoga and learn how to share the practice with students of all levels in a safe and effective manner.

We will focus on the principles of Ashtanga Yoga while refining your awareness of the intricacies of the practice. Karen’s expertise as a practitioner is matched by her ability to share a wealth of knowledge in a personable, fun, and non-intimidating manner.

You will learn safe and effective hands-on adjustments for all the postures in the Primary Series, including appropriate modifications for each. All students will be met with compassion where they are in terms of abilities and experience.

Each participant will have an opportunity to practice and receive adjustments during our partner work sessions.

Weekend modules include:

• Learning the traditional vinyasa count for the Primary Series
• Philosophy and theory of Ashtanga Yoga and The Yoga Sutras
• Functional Anatomy
• Sanskrit pertaining to a led Primary Series class
• Asana clinics 

Throughout the program, you will gradually build strength, endurance, flexibility and mental focus. We will cover the foundational elements of sun salutations, standing poses, drishti, bandhas, and breathing.

Graduates of this program will have an opportunity to teach one full primary series class in the studio to our yoga community to practice and hone skills learned.

About The Teacher

Karen Dubi is on a personal mission is to broaden people's perspectives on yoga by using a holistic approach that considers body, mind, and spirit. Her purpose is to provide people with the tools and knowledge they need in order to reach their full potential and make an impact in the world.  

Karen has been a teacher, coach, and mentor for over 25 years. She has dedicated her professional life to developing expert level mastery in yoga, meditation, and breath work to increase her awareness and skillset in helping others with self-actualization.   

In the yoga community, Karen is a well-respected teacher with a solid reputation, especially among Ashtanga Yoga practitioners. She served as the Director for Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Institute and appeared as guest faculty for many yoga training programs.  

She maintains a daily yoga practice. By honoring the importance of discipline, she has been able to embrace life’s changes and transitions. 

Drawing on her extensive experience in mindfulness, health and wellness, Karen offers a variety of signature programs and runs a thriving online coaching business.  

She is the author of, The Art of Getting Out of Your Own Way. a how to guide for those feeling stuck and wanting more. This book is a resource that will provide the reader with all the tools necessary to achieve their goals.
